Terms of use

The rules of the court.

Effective October 9, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Matchcard app for iPhone and Android and of this website. They are written to be read. Please do read them, because by creating an account or using Matchcard you agree to them.

1. The agreement

This is an agreement between you and Folly Agency LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company in the United States, doing business as Matchcard ("Matchcard", "we", "us"). It covers the Matchcard app, the website at matchcard.app, and any support we give you. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your information and is part of this agreement.

If you download Matchcard from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply to the download and to any purchase. Where those terms and these conflict about a purchase, the store's terms win for that purchase.

2. What Matchcard is

Matchcard helps a USTA tennis team run its season. The captain sets the team up from their TennisLink team page, shares a join code, and publishes a lineup for each match. Players join with the code, pick their name on the roster, and answer whether they are In, Maybe or Out for each match. Everyone on the team sees the schedule, results, standings, each opponent's roster and strength, and the published card.

Matchcard is made by a small independent operator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the United States Tennis Association (USTA), TennisLink, Apple or Google.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to have an account, and at least 18 to captain a team or buy a subscription. Matchcard is built for USTA adult leagues.
  • You need an account to use the app. You can create one with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.
  • Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you agree to tell us at support@matchcard.app if you think someone else is using it.
  • One person, one account. Give us accurate information, and pick your own name on the roster, not someone else's.

4. Captains, teams and team data

The person who sets a team up is its captain. The captain controls the team: the season data, the roster, the lineups, and the join code. By setting a team up you confirm that:

  • you are the captain or co-captain of that USTA team, or have that captain's permission;
  • you have the right to bring the team's TennisLink pages into the app, including the names and ratings of your teammates and of the other teams in your flight, and to share that information with the members of your team (opposing captains' contact details stay with your team's captains);
  • you will share the join code only with people who are on the team's roster;
  • you are responsible for the accuracy of what you import and save. Matchcard parses what you paste and shows it to the team; it is on you to check it before you save and before you publish a card.

Team data belongs to the team and its members. We hold it to provide the service and handle it as described in the Privacy policy.

5. Subscriptions and billing

The captain pays for the team. Players never pay. One subscription covers the whole roster, however many people join. There are two auto-renewing subscriptions and no one-time purchases:

PlanPriceRenewsCovers
Season$14.99Every 3 monthsOne team. Coverage runs through the end of the USTA season it is bought in, plus playoffs, so an early purchase never lapses mid-season.
Captain year$39.99Every yearEvery team the captain runs, spring, summer and fall, up to three teams at a time.

Prices are in US dollars. The store shows the exact price in your currency, including any tax, before you confirm a purchase, and that price governs.

Billing and renewal

Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to your store account. Each subscription renews automatically at the end of its period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. We do not take payment ourselves and never see your card details.

Cancelling

You manage, change or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge; the current period runs to its end and the team stays covered until then. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Because Apple and Google take the payment, refunds are handled by them under their own policies. Request a refund through the store you bought from. If a store refunds a purchase, coverage for that purchase ends at once.

Price changes

If we change the price of a subscription, the store will tell you before the new price applies to your renewal, and you can cancel before then.

6. Free trial

A captain's first team starts with a 14-day free trial so the captain can set up the roster and invite everyone before deciding. No card is needed to start, nothing is charged when the trial ends, and the trial does not convert to a subscription on its own. Each captain account gets one free trial; a team a captain sets up after that needs a subscription for its paid features.

7. When a subscription ends

When a trial or subscription ends without renewal, nothing is deleted. The team stays readable for everyone on it, and players can still answer availability. Publishing lineups and updating the roster or season data pause until a subscription is active again. Restoring or buying a subscription turns them back on.

8. Acceptable use

Use Matchcard to run a tennis team and nothing else. In particular, you agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl, copy or bulk-export data from the service, or access it by any means other than the app;
  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone on a roster, in an availability note, in a lineup or anywhere else in the app;
  • impersonate a captain or any other person, set up a team you are not entitled to run, or join a team you are not a member of;
  • enter information you have no right to enter, or share team data outside the team without the right to do so;
  • probe, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the service or its security;
  • resell access, share a subscription across accounts, or use the service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close an account, or remove a team, that breaks these rules. Where practical we will tell you first.

Rosters, ratings, schedules, results and standings come from the captain's own USTA TennisLink team page; home or away, start times, venues and line-by-line results from that team's own match reports; and the other teams' rosters, ratings, home courts and captains' contacts from their team pages in your flight. All of it is read on a captain's phone in the captain's own TennisLink session, nightly, when a captain opens the app after a match, or when a captain taps Refresh; opposing captains' contacts are visible only to your team's captains, and nothing is read from TennisLink on our servers. Matchcard does not log in to TennisLink on your behalf and never holds your USTA credentials. TennisLink is run by the USTA, which can change its pages at any time; when that happens the import may stop working until we update the parser. Venue addresses may also come from a map search by the venue's name on your phone (Apple Maps on iPhone, the phone's geocoder on Android) and from a shared directory of public club names and addresses that every team in the app reads and adds to; check the address before you drive.

Ratings, records, win projections and suggested lineups shown in Matchcard are calculated from that data. They are estimates to help a captain think, not official USTA ratings or standings. Check the card against TennisLink before you publish it, and check the official results before you rely on them.

10. Your content and our software

You keep whatever rights you have in the information you and your team put into Matchcard. You give us permission to store, process and display it to your team so we can run the service, and for no other purpose.

Matchcard, its software, design and name are ours. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store's terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or sell any part of it.

11. Privacy and your rights

Our Privacy policy explains what we collect, who can see it and where it lives. In short: we collect only what the app needs, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, delete or export your personal information by emailing support@matchcard.app from the address on your account, and we will answer within 30 days. You can also delete your account under Profile in the app, or by emailing us, in which case we delete it within 30 days.

California and GDPR. We do not sell personal information. For residents of the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, our lawful basis for processing is the performance of this agreement, and, for Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple, your consent.

12. The service is provided as is

Matchcard is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it up, accurate and secure, but we cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always current, or that the TennisLink import will always work. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Matchcard will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, matches, defaults, league standing or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service, however caused. Our total liability to you for all claims together will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars if you have paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Ending your account or the service

You can stop using Matchcard at any time and delete your account under Profile in the app or by emailing support@matchcard.app. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that in your store settings.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Matchcard. Where practical we will give notice and, if we discontinue the service, time to export your data. Sections 10 through 15 survive the end of this agreement.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking to us first will be brought in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to sue where you live, nothing here takes that away.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, and we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Matchcard after that date means you accept the new terms. If you do not, delete your account before then.

17. Contact

Questions about these terms go to support@matchcard.app, or by post to Folly Agency LLC, 952 Godber St, Charleston, SC 29412. For help with the app, see the Support page.
